Sunday evening man from Magnolia was involved in an accident that resulted in the death of a local woman. According to Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department, the incident occurred about 1 AM Sunday morning, on state 105.

Unfortunately, the wreck resulted in the death of a woman. According to reports, the driver of the pickup truck that struck the Mitsubishi attempted to flee the scene on foot. According to reports, the ensuing search located the suspected driver at a local hospital seeking treatment for a broken arm.
Reports further indicate that not one but two assistant district attorneys interviewed the suspect at the hospital along with troopers. The driver was arrested and charged with intoxication, manslaughter with a vehicle, and other charges, according to reports.
The truck in the accident also struck a powerline pole, resulting in power outages in the immediate area. It is hard to say the speed of the vehicles, but with the severity of the impact, it is highly unlikely that the accident occurred at lower speeds.
